Acupuncture Is Safe And Effective

Acupuncture has been practiced worldwide for thousands of years. In the UK, acupuncture has become popular in the last several decades as people have become more interested in complementary and alternative medicine treatments. In 1979 the World Health Organisation listed 43 diseases (see table below) which can be treated by acupuncture which included insomnia, back pain, asthma, depression, hay fever, headaches, arthritis, menstrual problems, skin diseases, digestive problems and infertility.

Acupuncture is a very safe type of treatment if administered by a qualified acupuncturist. In our clinic we use the sterile and disposable needles. These needles are so fine that there is no discomfort when they are inserted but a slight needle sensation of tingle my be experienced. They are either withdrawn after few seconds of left for up to 30 minutes, during which the patient may feel a pleasant relaxation.
